How to play
The game has four races over the village green. There are 26 racers, and each one has a power of its own.
- The draft. Each player takes 5 racers from three open rows (4 racers from two rows with 6 players). Players take turns, and the order turns around at the end of a row. Everyone sees every hand.
- The secret pick. Before each race, every player picks one unused racer in secret. All picks show at once. Each racer runs in one race only, so one racer stays on the bench and scores nothing.
- A turn. Roll the die and move your racer that many spaces. A racer that is tripped misses its next move and then gets up.
- The Fair. Races 2 and 4 run on the Fair. A downhill moves you 3 spaces forward. A goose moves you 2 back. A puddle trips you. A toffee stall gives you 1 point.
- The powers. Each racer has one power. A power acts at most once in a turn. The space acts first, then the racer that moved, then the other racers in turn order.
- The places. The first racer home takes 1st place. The second takes 2nd place, and the race ends. Only these two score.
- The end. The game ends after race 4. The most points wins. Players with the same points share the place.
Points for each race
| Race | 1st place | 2nd place |
|---|---|---|
| Race 1 | 4 | 2 |
| Race 2 | 5 | 2 |
| Race 3 | 6 | 3 |
| Race 4 | 7 | 3 |
Each toffee is worth 1 point more.
Why it is fair
Every shuffle and every roll comes from a secret seed. You see its fingerprint when the game starts. You see the seed when it ends, so you can check every roll. Verify a game.
