How to play

Collect as little wax as you can. The game lasts six turns and takes about five minutes.

104 candles, numbered 1 to 104. Every player gets 6 of them.
4 shelves. Each shelf starts with one candle from the deck.
Every candle is worth 1 drop of wax. Smoky candles are worth more: a multiple of 5 gives 2, a multiple of 10 gives 3, a multiple of 11 gives 5, and 55 (both at once) gives 7.

Candle 18 gives 1 drop. Candle 30 is smoky and gives 3.

Everyone picks one candle from their hand in secret. You see who has picked, never what.
When all have picked, the candles are shown. They go onto the shelves one by one, lowest first.
Each candle goes onto the shelf whose last candle is closest below it. Candle 25 with shelves ending in 12, 20, 31 and 47 goes after the 20.
A shelf holds five candles. If yours would be the sixth, the shelf tips: you collect its five candles as wax, and your candle starts the shelf again.
If your candle is lower than the last candle of every shelf, it cannot go anywhere. You collect the shelf with the least wax (the first one on a tie), and your candle starts it again.

This shelf is full. Whoever places the next candle on it, for example 19, collects 9, 11, 16, 17 and 18: five drops of wax.

After six turns every hand is empty. Count your wax. The player with the least wax wins. Ties share the place.

Tap a candle, then tap “Play”. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys and Enter, or the keys 1 to 6.
Point at a shelf or a candle, or hold a finger on it, to read how many more candles fit and what its wax marks mean.
Each turn has a timer. If it runs out, the table plays your lowest-risk candle for you.
Empty seats are taken by bots. Bots are always marked as bots.
If you lose your connection, your seat waits for you. After a short time a bot plays for you until you are back.
Every deal comes from a secret seed. You see its fingerprint when the game starts, and the seed itself when it ends. Verify a game.
