How to play
Each player leads a guild house with its own start and its own skill. In the first year you keep a house and any of your 10 cards, for 3 coins each. The game ends in the year when warmth, bloom and springs are all full.
- Three tracks. Warmth, bloom and springs show how far the land has woken. Each step you raise gives you 1 renown.
- Renown. Renown pays you coins every year, on top of your coin production. At the end, each point of renown is a point.
- Your turn. Take one or two actions: play a card, use a standard project, use a card's action, claim a milestone or fund an award. Or pass for the rest of the year.
- Cards. A work changes your land once and stays. An active card has an action you can use once a year. An event happens once and is turned face down.
- Tiles. Springs go on the spring spaces. Groves go next to your own tiles and raise bloom. Towns may not touch another town. Each spring next to a new tile pays its owner 2 coins.
- The year. When everyone has passed, production comes: your power turns into heat, and you get your coins and goods. Then each player draws 4 cards and keeps any of them for 3 coins each.
- The end. When warmth, bloom and springs are all full, the year is played to its end. After its production, each player may still plant groves with seeds. Then the points count.
How you score
| Renown | 1 point for each renown. |
|---|---|
| Milestones | 5 points each. Three can be claimed in a game. |
| Awards | 5 points to the leader and 2 to the second. Three can be funded in a game. |
| Groves | 1 point for each grove of yours. |
| Towns | 1 point for each grove next to a town of yours. |
| Cards | The points printed on your cards. |
Table options
A private table takes 1 to 5 players. It may play with all the cards or with the base cards only, and with or without a draft of the 4 cards each year. Alone, you have 14 years to fill all three tracks.
Why it is fair
Every shuffle comes from a secret seed. You see its fingerprint at the start of the game. You see the seed itself at the end. So you can check every card that was dealt. Verify a game.
