How to play

Each player leads a house of the realm. The realm has three lands: the Heights, the Vale and the Fen. Each land has two places. A game lasts five years. Each year goes through the seasons below.

  1. Thaw. From year 2, each house draws cards up to its hand size. The house with the most prestige goes first this year.
  2. Spring. All houses choose one bid card in secret. The bids turn over, and the highest bid takes a favour from the Tribute row. Then each house sets its herald on a place and lays one hidden card in each of the three lands.
  3. Summer. The lands are fought for one by one. The hidden cards turn over, and the house with the most strength wins the land. The winner takes the reward of one of its two places.
  4. Autumn. Each house may send a card to a court and go on a quest for insight. It may also buy champions and holdings in its Stronghold.
  5. Winter. Heralds go home and the year ends. After the fifth year, the house with the most prestige takes the Stone Seat.

Alone or with friends

With 1 player, you play against the Pretender, a rival that plays from its own cards. Its level is the bots' level. With 2 to 4 players, bots can fill the empty seats.

Why it is fair

Every shuffle comes from a secret seed. You see its fingerprint at the start of the game. You see the seed itself at the end. So you can check every card that the seed dealt. Verify a game.
